Vaccinations

You can get vaccinated against hepatitis A and/or B and HPV at the Checkpoint.

We recommend a vaccination against hepatitis A, hepatitis B and against HPV.

In certain cases the costs are covered by the health insurance (basic insurance).

Make an appointment for a vaccination and clarify the possible costs for you.

Hepatitis A

The vaccination against the hepatitis A virus (HAV) is particularly recommended for men who have sex with men.

The costs of the hepaitis A vaccination is covered by your basic health insurance.

There is also a combined vaccination against hepatitis A and B available (but the costs are not covered by your basic health insurance).

Hebaptits B

A vaccination against the hepatitis B virus (HBV) is recommended for everyone.

As a rule, three injections are necessary, administered within six months, in order to achieve a lifelong protection.

Since 1997, the hepatitis B vaccination has been a standart vaccinations given in swiss schools (secondary schools or vocational schools / at the age of 11-15 years).

The costs of the vaccination is covered by your basic health insurance.

A combined vaccination against hepatitis A and B is also available (but the costs are not covered by your basic health insurance).

HPV

The HPV vaccination is recommended for everyone before their first sexual contact.

According to the swiss cantonal vaccination programme, the costs are covered by the Checkpoint Bern, provided you are under 27 years of age and live in the canton of Bern.

HPV can provoke genital warts and / or certain types of cancers.

It gets transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.

If you have not been vaccinated yet or if you do not know your vaccination status, we can carry out a blood test to check it out.

The laboratory analysis provides clarity and vaccination gaps can be closed with a booster if necessary.
