A Checkpoint is a health centre for gay and other men who have sex with men (MSM). The Checkpoints Vaud and Zürich also counsel transgender people and their partners.


Checkpoint is not only a walk-in centre for carrying through tests and for the treatment of sexually transmitted infections.

Checkpoint is also a health centre, where you can discuss your personal and psychological problems with professionals.

Psychologists at the Checkpoints have an open ear for questions about sexual orientation and gender identity or for concerns in matters of sex and partnerships. Also on offer is couple counselling. Besides this, they are experts on all types of psychiatric pressures such as depression, anxieties and addiction, etc.

Information on psychological health

When difficulties start to influence one’s self-esteem, moods, private life, social or professional situations; psychological assistance can help. An initial consultation with the psychologist is there to analyse the situation, to contain the problems and to locate an individual solution for the difficult situation at hand.

If a longer treatment time is needed, therapeutic aims can be determined together with you. The therapy is carried through with complete confidentiality and with respect of personal ideals. The psychological treatment is covered by the basic health insurance.
